CUMBRIA, a lively hand block print fabric originally created in 1922, features a stylized 'Tree of Life' motif. To produce just one full width of fabric, we use 46 different pigment-based dyes and 138 blocks, fully capturing the color variation typical of hand block printing. In 2017, four fresh colorways on linen were introduced into the Scalamandré line. Today, we are proud to expand the design with a digitally printed wallcovering interpretation of the fabric, rescaled and printed on a grasscloth ground.
Also featured above: TORINO VELVET and FAYE.

CUMBRIA WALLCOVERING is digitally printed, on a grasscloth ground, with pigment-based dyes that fully emphasize the color variation typical of hand block printing. Directly interpreted from the fabric, it has been rescaled to make a coordinating grasscloth wallcovering.
