WHAT IS VINYL TYPE I?

Vinyl Type I is considered light duty, and is designed to be used in areas of light to moderate traffic. Typically, the weight of Vinyl I wallcovering is around 10 ounces per yard. These wallcoverings are commonly used in apartment and office buildings, hotel rooms, waiting rooms, as well as ceilings and areas of light abrasion.

WHAT IS VINYL TYPE II?

Vinyl Type II is considered medium to heavy duty, and is designed to be used in high traffic areas. Typically the weight of Vinyl II wallcovering is between 20 and 28 ounces per yard. Type II wallcovering must meet higher criteria for the federal specifications pertaining to categories like abrasion resistance, breaking strength, stain resistance, and tear resistance. These wallcoverings are commonly used in a broad range of heavy traffic areas including hospitality, healthcare, office, retail, education, and interiors that are potentially exposed to heavy abrasion.
