The art of hand block printing was created as early as 3000 BC and has been practiced ever since. Due to the handmade element and multiple steps, this beautiful process takes plenty of care and time, resulting in a slightly unique pattern repeat every time, much like a piece of art! Every yard of Satomi Hand Block Print will be slightly different due to this labor-intensive process. Artisans hand-carved custom wooden blocks that are used to hand-print the pattern on an ivory cotton ground. The colorways of this fresh-faced, Indienne-style tape coordinate with Anissa Print, Farrah Print and Tulsi Block Print Tape.

Cumbria Hand Block Print Using the original hand cut blocks from 1922, this print requires 138 blocks to produce one full yard of fabric. This lively pattern features a stylized tree of life adorned with flowers and foliage pairs beautifully with graphic ikats, rustic stripes or rich animal prints and is interpreted in a sophisticated color palette perfect for today’s interiors. Bench Upholstery: DOT WEAVE.

Kelmescott Hand Block Print This early twentieth century hand block print was discovered in an English archive and has been reproduced using the original wood blocks, which were first cut and printed in July 1924. The multicolored design is composed of 40 separate blocks and requires 80 blocks to complete one full meter of printing, and 1120 per table length. Its charming scenic design of English country life is freshly interpreted in new colorations for today’s interiors. Its allover pattern and crisp linen ground make it a great option for curtains, chair upholstery and decorative accents in great rooms, libraries and bedrooms. Bench Upholstery: ECHO VELVET.
