“When I think of iconic design, the Scalamandré zebra immediately comes to mind. Is there a pattern in the world that manages to be so stylish, whimsical, and mysterious all at once? In fact, it’s the mystery in the design that really appeals to me. Who is this zebra and what is he up to when he’s not gracing the walls and furnishings of the chicest rooms? It’s been a great honor and lots of fun imagining the private life of this legendary figure. From my perspective, he’s a fearless dresser, a connoisseur of the finer things in life, and always up for a celebration. I’d love to sit next to him at a dinner party. ” – Tug Rice
