Scalamandre Launches A New Radiantly Chic Collection

Scalamandre's glorious Spring 2012 Collection, Avalon, inspired by the legendary island paradise, unfurls delightfully drawn and enduringly chic patterns awash in fresh, sun-kissed colors. Ten bright new designs bring the fulfillment of Spring’s promise in an offering that celebrates land and sea in palettes of stylish browns, killer corals, celestial blues, lush, leafy greens and pristine sands on pure grounds of crisp cottons, linens and silks.

Pechen des Perles
This whimsical Chinoiserie design was inspired by a document in Scalamandré’s world-renowned archives. Silhouetted palm trees, ducks, horses, bridges, pagodas, fishermen, and figures in boats are hand printed on a crisp cotton and linen ground in five fresh colorways: Cocoa Bean, Coral Sand, Crystal Blue, Kiwi Green and Baja Yellow.
 
Pickfair
Pickfair, a one hundred percent cotton dobby of small, symmetrical textured grids in colors of Chocolate, Coral, Celestial Blue, Citron, Canary and Red Bliss is as versatile as it is stylish. Woven on a loom by selectively raising some warp threads and depressing others creates Pickfair’s charming, Lilliputian-scaled patterns and textures. 
 
Brentwood
A graphic, silhouetted framed damask motif of stylized flowers and leaves on one hundred per cent cotton was inspired by a 16th century Italian design. In four colorways: Coral on Sand, Crystal Blue on Cream, Kiwi on Cream, and Baja Yellow on Cream, Brentwood’s elegant, reductive design slyly references the traditional damask’s contrasting high and low luster with 21st century cheek.
  
Lillian
Stylized paisley teardrop designs with a faux hand-blocked surface are masterfully printed on a crisp linen and silk blend in cheerful Browns, Corals, Blues, Greens and Grays.
 
Casse Ottoman
A modern, randomly broken ottoman design with a classic repp pattern is woven of a durable and hardworking cotton and polyester. Casse Ottoman tests 35,000 rubs on the Martindale scale and its seven stellar colorways complement and mix effortlessly with Avalon’s companion fabrics, as well as with those superlative Scalamandré classics.

Greystone
Greystone, a fashion-forward, sublimely sophisticated interpretation of an Ikat design, on a smooth as silk cotton ground, is available in two colorways: the bejeweled, brilliant Blues on Cream and the elegant, versatile Naturals on Cream.
 
Malibu
Dramatically scaled and exquisitely rendered, stunning botanicals are captured with a scientist’s eye and an artist’s hand. Printed on one hundred percent linen, Malibu celebrates the luxuriant plenty and romance of the tropics in colorways of Turquoise & Natural, Blue, Green & Yellow and Tropical Greens.
 
Anemone Floral
Scalamandré’s lyrical windflowers, blossom by blossom, open on a luxurious, one hundred percent silk ground. Anemone Floral’s painterly, faux warp quality is interpreted in five lovely, lilting colorways of Blue Multi, Sepia, Yellow Multi, Aqua Multi and Cream Multi. 
 
Hillcrest
Intricate stitching effects create grace, dimension and luminosity in a silk blended, extravagantly large-scaled embroidery of unsurpassed beauty. Colored in heavenly hues of Ivory on Celestial Blue and Platinum on Beige, Hillcrest is as alluringly irresistible for window treatments as it is for light upholstery.

Paradiso
Exotic Quetzal birds alight on pomegranates among a dreamscape of cascading passionflowers, trumpet vines, Rosa rugosas and hibiscuses. Exquisitely rendered in a spectrum of lush, tropical hues. Paradiso comes in two jewel-toned colorways of Bronze and Turquoise and is warp printed on a taffeta-like silk and polyester blended ground.
